How do sunscreens work?

Sunscreens work in two ways:

1. By absorbing most of the UV
2. By reflecting most of the UV away from your skin

Most reflective sunscreens contain a physical blocker such as Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide which further increases their effectiveness.
